Presidential candidate Donald Duke criticized President Bola Tinubu's economic policies, specifically targeting the current fuel subsidy regime. The former Governor of Cross River State asserted that the administration replaced a previous fuel subsidy scam with a poorly managed system that enriches the government while impoverishing citizens and the economy.

Duke argued that recent exchanges between the government and opposition parties indicate that President Tinubu has no intention of reviewing what he termed anti-people policies. He called for a transition from political debate to the adoption of strategically designed economic measures to address poverty and stimulate growth.

Positioning the Peoples Redemption Party as an alternative for the 2027 general elections, Duke promised that his party would prioritize Nigerian livelihoods through enlightened policies and more effective resource management if elected.
