Nathan M. Johnson Elected Texas Attorney General
Nathan M. Johnson won the Texas attorney general race, becoming the first Democrat to hold the office since 1994.
Texas State Senator Nathan M. Johnson was elected as the state's attorney general on Tuesday, marking the first time a Democrat has held the position since 1994. Johnson will succeed Ken Paxton.
Johnson intends to rebuild the office by removing it from partisan warfare and refocusing its efforts on government accountability, consumer protection, and constitutional purposes. He specifically plans to utilize fair competition laws to target rigged markets within the ticketing and music industries.
Outside of politics, Johnson is a former professional composer who created an electro-orchestral sound for the Dragon Ball franchise through Funimation Entertainment. He views his experience in the arts as a tool to connect with the public and encourage engagement with the political process.
