U.S. and China Hold Beijing Talks Over Iran War

The United States and China are holding diplomatic talks in Beijing to address the ongoing war in Iran. These discussions occur as the conflict continues to impose a heavy financial toll on Washington, with Pentagon acting comptroller Jules Hurst estimating the total cost at 29 billion dollars.

Amidst the hostilities, French President Emmanuel Macron has announced a plan to launch a United Nations initiative to establish a neutral and peaceful security mission for the Strait of Hormuz. This proposal is contingent upon an agreement between Tehran and Washington to lift their respective blockades.

Control of the strategic waterway remains with the Iranian military. Spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia stated that maintaining this control strengthens the international influence of Iran and is expected to generate significant economic returns, including the potential to double oil revenues.
