Pentagon Releases 40 Declassified Files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena
The U.S. Department of Defense released 40 files documenting unidentified anomalous phenomena incidents from 1949 to 2025 as part of a broader transparency initiative.
The United States Department of Defense released a fourth batch of 40 declassified files concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) on July 10, 2026. The archive, which follows an executive order signed by President Donald Trump, includes 19 videos, 14 documents, four audio files, and three images sourced from the Pentagon, NASA, the CIA, the FBI, and the Department of Energy.
Documented incidents span from 1949 to 2025. Notable records include a 1949 conference in Los Alamos, New Mexico, regarding green fireballs, a 2015 intrusion at the Pantex nuclear weapons facility in Texas, and 2025 sensor tracking of star-shaped objects over the Yellow and East China Seas. Other files detail a 2019 encounter with a high-speed rectangular object over the Eastern U.S.
The Pentagon stated that the material does not constitute evidence of extraterrestrial activity or advanced foreign technology. These disclosures are part of an effort by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office to identify aviation safety threats and national security risks. Spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed that the department and its agency partners are currently preparing the next release of UAP files.
