Trump Launches $25 Million Government Fraud Tip Program

President Donald Trump is introducing a $25 million initiative that pays individuals up to $30,000 for tips leading to government fraud convictions.

Donald Trump will announce a $25 million program on Tuesday that offers rewards of up to $30,000 for tips leading to convictions for government fraud. Administered by the United States Department of Justice, the initiative falls under an antifraud task force led by Vice President JD Vance.

The task force has previously investigated medical supply programs, food assistance benefits, and the Affordable Care Act. To mark the launch, the president will present a $10,000 check to content creator Nick Shirley for a viral video alleging fraud in daycare centers, despite some of those claims being debunked by news outlets in Minnesota.

The program follows a multiyear fraud scandal in Minnesota involving social-services companies and Somali residents. That scandal contributed to Governor Tim Walz's decision not to seek a third term earlier this year. White House spokesperson Lauren Bi stated that the administration has "zero tolerance for individuals who steal from Americans."
