Trust Revokes Venue for Rahul Gandhi Student Event

The Kayastha Pathshala Trust revoked permission for Rahul Gandhi to hold the 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' event, scheduled for August 8 at the K.P. Ground in Prayagraj. Trust acting president Jitendra Nath Chaudhary stated the decision followed an Allahabad High Court order from August 2025 restricting the venue to sports and educational activities. The trust also cited safety concerns and potential damage to the sports ground due to rain-induced waterlogging.

The event was designed as a platform for the Leader of the Opposition to discuss paper leaks and student issues. In response, Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai called on the state government and district administration to provide an alternative venue, asserting that Gandhi would still visit the city.

Congress leaders characterized the move as political interference. MP Priyanka Gandhi questioned the administration's motives, while leader Pawan Khera accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of attempting to obstruct the program due to fear of the Leader of the Opposition. Khera maintained that the program would definitely take place despite the venue revocation.
