President Tinubu Inaugurates Transitway N2 Corridor in Abuja
President Bola Tinubu commissioned the Transitway N2 corridor in Abuja to improve connectivity between the Wuse District and the Central Business District.
President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the Transitway N2 corridor in Abuja on July 7, 2026. Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the president commissioned the project to mark the third anniversary of his administration and the 50th anniversary of the Federal Capital Territory's creation.
The project, executed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, features two engineered bridges linking the Central Business District to the Wuse District. Designed as the first major implementation of the Transitway concept within the Abuja Master Plan, the corridor supports both vehicular and rail transportation to ease traffic flow and improve urban mobility.
Tinubu praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for delivering tangible results and turning the administration's renewed hope agenda into a visible reality. He stated that the government intends to replicate this infrastructure development across Nigeria to ensure balanced national development.
Minister Nyesom Wike attributed the project's successful completion to the removal of the FCT Administration from the Treasury Single Account, which granted the agency better access to development funds.
