Uzbekistan Confers Highest State Honour on Narendra Modi

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan conferred the country's highest state honour for foreign leaders upon Narendra Modi during a two-day state visit on August 30, 2026.

Prime Minister Modi described the award as a moment of immense pride and a reflection of the friendship, or 'Dostlik', between the two nations. He stated that the honor represents India's heritage and the spirit of universal brotherhood, pledging that India and Uzbekistan would collaborate for the welfare of humanity and the Global South.

BJP leader Navnit Ravi Rana praised the recognition, asserting that Modi's role as a global first responder during crises justifies such international honors.
