Trump Administration Launches Sci-Fi Themed Aliens.gov Tracking Website
President Donald Trump launched Aliens.gov, a science-fiction themed portal that tracks mass deportation arrests and allows citizens to report undocumented immigrants as suspicious aliens.
The Donald Trump administration launched Aliens.gov on May 28, 2026, a website that utilizes science-fiction and UFO-themed imagery to track the arrest and deportation of undocumented immigrants. The portal features a Star Wars-style opening crawl with the phrase "They walk among us," a promotional video depicting a flying saucer lifting a person over a border wall, and a live dashboard reporting over 3.1 million encounters. It includes an interactive heat map of arrests and a digital form for citizens to report suspicious aliens.
The initiative, developed by the National Design Studio, has faced significant backlash for its dehumanizing language. Critics described the site as barbaric, while some noted technical errors, including misspellings of U.S. cities. The rollout coincides with reports of record deaths in ICE facilities and violent protests in New Jersey and Minneapolis.
While promoting the portal, the administration faced legislative and legal hurdles. Senate Republicans abandoned a $70 billion funding package for immigration enforcement due to internal disputes over a compensation fund for administration allies. Additionally, the federal government filed lawsuits against Maine, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington after those states refused to issue confidential license plates to federal agents. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey condemned the federal tactics as unconstitutional.
