Barack Obama to Rally for Democrats in Ohio and Michigan

Barack Obama will visit Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday, Oct. 24, to rally for Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Sherrod Brown and gubernatorial nominee Amy Acton. This visit marks the former president's first trip to the state since 2018. Obama described the Senate race as a close contest that could determine which party controls the U.S. Senate.

Following the Cleveland event, Obama is scheduled to appear in Detroit on the same day to support candidates Abdul El-Sayed and Jocelyn Benson. The Democratic surge follows a series of Republican campaign efforts, including three rally visits by President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance for GOP incumbent Senator Jon Husted. Republican gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy has also received endorsements from Trump.

Early voting for the Nov. 3 election is currently underway. The Ohio Secretary of State reported that more than 170,000 ballots had been cast as of Friday, Oct. 10.
