The defense focused on the removal of fuel subsidies and foreign exchange unification, which proponents described as essential for long-term recovery despite causing immediate public hardship.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio led a delegation of federal lawmakers to visit the president in Lagos, pledging the National Assembly's continued support. Akpabio cited the passage of four major tax reform laws and the review of obsolete legislation as evidence of this commitment, asserting that insecurity is abating and the reforms are working.
Simultaneously, Dr. Emmanuel Simon of the Relax, Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN) group urged citizens to remain patient, characterizing the policies as necessary surgeries to save a bleeding nation. In Yobe State, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement argued that the reforms have already increased revenue for state governors and called for the president's reelection in 2027 to consolidate these gains.
