JD Vance Rallies for Ohio Republicans Ahead of Midterms
Vice President JD Vance held a campaign rally in Ohio to support Republican candidates and criticize Democratic opponents ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
Vice President JD Vance led a campaign rally Wednesday morning at the Sharonville Convention Center in Greater Cincinnati to support Republican candidates for the November 3 midterm elections. Joining Vance were U.S. Senator Jon Husted, gubernatorial nominee Vivek Ramaswamy, and congressional candidate Eric Conroy. During the event, Vance praised the candidates for their common sense and criticized Democratic opponents as far-left radicals, specifically attacking Amy Acton's pandemic response and accusing Greg Landsman of wanting to raise taxes.
Vance defended a controversial campaign advertisement by Ramaswamy that called Acton a liar and promoted President Donald Trump's policies on tariffs, immigration, and manufacturing. He also announced the results of a national crackdown on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program fraud. The rally, which faced small protests and a brief interruption by a heckler, follows a similar event held by President Trump in Northern Kentucky.
The Republican push comes as Marist polling indicates Democrats Sherrod Brown and Amy Acton hold leads in the U.S. Senate and gubernatorial races, respectively. In response to the GOP activity, Democrats have scheduled a rally in Cleveland for October 24 featuring former President Barack Obama, Sherrod Brown, and Amy Acton.
