Tehran Installs Mock Jail Cell Featuring Donald Trump Impersonator
Tehran authorities installed a life-size 3D jail cell in Tajrish Square featuring an actor portraying Donald Trump to protest U.S. military strikes on civilians.
Municipal authorities in Tehran have unveiled a provocative propaganda installation in Tajrish Square featuring a live actor portraying Donald Trump. The display consists of a life-size 3D jail cell suspended several stories high, where an impersonator wearing a mask and wig mimics the U.S. president's movements and dance.
The installation is part of a 15-day campaign organized by the Tehran Municipality’s Beautification Organization and District 5. It serves to denounce alleged war crimes, specifically U.S. military strikes on civilian sites. Iranian state media and officials highlight a strike on a wedding ceremony in southern Iran, with reports citing casualties in the towns of Sirkik and Kuhestak. One report states the strike killed two women and two children and wounded over 60 people.
This campaign follows a broader conflict that began in February with American and Israeli strikes that killed Iran's supreme leader. While United States Central Command has stated it does not target civilians, Iranian authorities use the display and accompanying screens to signal that they remain unintimidated by American military superiority. Local residents have reacted to the installation by taking selfies or shouting abuse at the actor.
