Donald Trump to Campaign for Mike Collins in Georgia

Donald Trump will travel to Georgia on October 16 to campaign for Republican Senate candidate Mike Collins. The visit, confirmed by the Republican National Convention, is part of a wider tour that includes planned stops in Montana and Arizona to support GOP candidates.

Collins is challenging Democratic incumbent Senator Jon Ossoff in a race that some political observers now believe favors the Democrats. The Collins campaign faces internal pressure, as GOP strategists have expressed dissatisfaction with his fundraising performance and his struggle to attract independent voters.

Adding to the campaign's challenges, the United States House Committee on Ethics investigated Collins over allegations that he used congressional resources to hire an intern who performed no work. Democratic strategist Mike Nellis described the Republican decision to field Collins against Ossoff as "tremendously stupid."
