Republican Groups Spend Millions to Support Max Miller in Ohio

Republican groups are spending millions to support Representative Max Miller in a tossup Ohio race amid domestic violence allegations and a House Ethics investigation.

Republican groups are spending millions of dollars to support Max Miller in a close re-election bid for his Ohio congressional seat. Miller is facing a challenge from Democrat Brian Poindexter in a race currently considered a tossup by election watchers.

Miller faces allegations of domestic violence from his ex-wife, Emily Moreno, who claims he physically abused her and caused injury to their daughter. While the United States House Committee on Ethics is investigating the claims, Miller denies all allegations. Some Republicans, including Senator Bernie Moreno and Senator Jon Husted, previously called for Miller to resign, with Moreno stating that Miller is a danger to his daughter.

Despite these controversies, the GOP is aggressively funding Miller's campaign to protect its narrow House majority. The Congressional Leadership Fund has committed approximately $5 million to advertisements supporting the representative. Donald Trump, who initially expressed doubt about Miller's prospects, is now described by Miller as being incredibly supportive.

The campaign has turned negative, with Poindexter running ads highlighting the abuse allegations and Miller countering with ads regarding Poindexter's past legal issues.
