CVoter Poll Shows Majority Dissatisfaction With Modi Government

A national poll by CVoter indicates that more than half of Indian adults are dissatisfied with how Narendra Modi and his government managed a series of medical exam leak scandals. These scandals sparked nationwide student protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party, during which police used tear gas and batons against demonstrators. The resulting unrest led to the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 25.

The survey of 1,349 adults shows that 63% of respondents believe allegations of police brutality during the protests require a proper investigation. Despite the unrest, nearly 40% of those polled still consider Modi the most popular leader among young Indians. However, nearly half of respondents expressed support for the Cockroach Janta Party's movement for future causes.

CVoter concluded that while the paper leaks and protests have caused political damage to the National Democratic Alliance government, the deeper challenge is the frustration of Indian youth facing limited opportunities.
