Narendra Modi Hosts Breakfast Meetings for New NDA Lawmakers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held breakfast sessions with newly elected Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs to provide guidance on parliamentary conduct and constituent engagement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a series of informal breakfast meetings in New Delhi to mentor newly elected and first-time lawmakers from the Bharatiya Janata Party and the National Democratic Alliance. During a session on August 5 and 6 with 36 to 37 Rajya Sabha members, Modi warned lawmakers against falling into a "spider’s web" of lobbyists, power brokers, and vested interests in Delhi.

Modi urged the MPs to remain connected to their roots, utilize the parliamentary library to learn legislative processes, and use technology responsibly to engage with youth. He provided a SWOT analysis of the lawmakers' social media handles and cautioned them to maintain decorum in the media and avoid bringing parliamentary anxiety into their public lives. He also encouraged the implementation of the MP Sports Scheme in their constituencies.

On August 7, Modi scheduled a second breakfast meeting at his residence for approximately 45 first-time Lok Sabha MPs. This group includes members who recently joined the NDA from the Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena, and the National Communist Party of India. During these interactions, Modi shared personal wellness habits, noting that he practices daily yoga and sleeps 3.5 hours to maintain productivity.
