Saudi Cabinet Approves 21 Strategic Agreements With France

The Saudi Cabinet, chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Jeddah, convened Tuesday to address regional security and international partnerships. A primary focus of the meeting was the outcome of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's state visit to Paris, where he met with President Emmanuel Macron.

This diplomatic engagement led to the first Saudi-French Strategic Partnership Council meeting and an Investment Roundtable. These discussions resulted in 21 agreements and memoranda of understanding spanning defense, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and entertainment. The Cabinet also reviewed strategic dialogues with Japan concerning energy and supply chains, alongside communications from the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.

Regarding regional stability, the Cabinet emphasized the necessity of keeping vital waterways open and secure, specifically citing the straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab. The government reaffirmed its support for diplomatic solutions to regional conflicts and the safeguarding of maritime navigation.
