Pro-Tinubu Groups Push for 2027 Re-election Support

Support groups for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are mobilizing for his 2027 re-election by urging public patience and seeking Peter Obi's withdrawal from the race.

Multiple support groups are mobilizing to secure the 2027 re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In Abuja, the Continuous Human Empowerment Initiative, Inclusive Support for Tinubu (CHEI-IST) declared its backing for the president, urging Nigerians to remain patient with current economic reforms. National Coordinator Akor Goodluck Michael argued that infrastructure and security improvements require time, comparing the national economy to a patient with multiple fractures who cannot expect immediate recovery.

Simultaneously, the Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN) is working to clear the presidential field. In Owerri, Deputy National Leader Mazi Franklin Ngoforo announced plans to engage the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide to persuade Peter Obi, the candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, to withdraw from the 2027 race. Ngoforo suggested that Obi should prioritize the strategic interests of the Southeast over personal ambition to build political goodwill with the North and Southwest.

The RHGN claims that internal crises within the Nigeria Democratic Congress and Obi's one-term pledge make his candidacy unviable for securing Northern support. Meanwhile, CHEI-IST is expanding its platform beyond political endorsement to advocate for local government autonomy and increased investment in primary healthcare to prevent the migration of medical professionals.
