Jim Haddock Wins Third Term in Pennsylvania 118th District
Democratic Representative Jim Haddock defeated Republican John Lombardo to secure a third term in Pennsylvania's 118th House District.
Democratic State Representative Jim Haddock won reelection to a third term in Pennsylvania's 118th House District during the November 3 election. Haddock secured approximately 62% of the vote, with final unofficial counts placing him at 16,767 votes compared to 10,427 for Republican challenger John Lombardo.
The campaign centered on the cost of living and affordability. Haddock attributed voter anxiety over inflation to federal dysfunction and a war with Iran initiated by President Donald Trump. In contrast, Lombardo conceded the race on Tuesday night, attributing his defeat to declining approval ratings for Trump and a lack of support from state Republican figures following a previous special election loss.
Financial records show Haddock's campaign significantly out-raised Lombardo's, gathering over $85,000 in direct donations and nearly $205,000 in in-kind contributions. This victory aligns with a broader trend in Pennsylvania, where Democrats are expected to expand their state House majority and capture the state Senate. Haddock, a former mayor of Avoca, previously served as the clerk of courts and prothonotary manager in Luzerne County.
