President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with Deloitte Africa executives in Abuja to discuss economic reforms and the need for increased youth employment and training.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with a delegation from Deloitte Africa at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. During the meeting, the President defended his administration's fiscal, revenue, and tax reforms, stating that Nigeria is making "serious foundational progress." He acknowledged that while the reforms required "bitter medicine," they have stabilized the economy over the last three years and increased the country's global competitiveness.
In response to the macroeconomic shifts, Tinubu and Minister of Finance Taiwo Oyedele urged Deloitte to expand its training and recruitment programs for Nigeria's youth population to maximize the gains of these reforms. The President specifically called for the firm to increase its impact through capacity building and employment opportunities.
Deloitte Africa CEO Ruwayda Redfearn and Deloitte West Africa CEO Yomi Olugbenro commended the government's reform agenda. They pledged to deploy the firm's global expertise in digital and business transformation to support the administration. Olugbenro emphasized the importance of extracting more value from these reforms to deliver the dividends of democracy to ordinary Nigerians on the street.
