Mark Zuckerberg Buys 440-Acre Irish Estate for 30 Million Euros
Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan purchased Strancally Castle and a 440-acre estate in County Waterford to serve as a base for visits to Ireland.
Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan purchased Strancally Castle and its accompanying 440-acre estate in County Waterford, Ireland. The off-market transaction, valued between 20 million and 30 million euros, provides the couple with a permanent base for visits to the country.
Zuckerberg is the third technology billionaire to acquire a large Irish estate since 2021, following similar purchases by James Dyson and Stripe co-founder John Collison. The acquisition comes as Meta continues to operate its international headquarters in Dublin under the oversight of the Irish Data Protection Commission.
The purchase coincides with legal challenges for the Meta CEO. A whistleblower is currently providing trial testimony alleging that Zuckerberg lied about the company's commitment to child safety.
