Political Leaders Launch Multi-Regional Mobilization for Tinubu 2027 Re-election
Nigerian governors and political leaders launched coordinated mobilization drives across Kano, the South-East, and Osun State to secure millions of votes for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 bid.
Political leaders across Nigeria launched a series of coordinated mobilization efforts on October 31, 2026, to secure the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the January 16, 2027, presidential election. These drives targeted key regions including the North, South-East, and South-West, focusing on economic reforms and political inclusion as primary drivers for continuity.
In Kano, former Governor Yahaya Bello and Representative Leke Abejide urged non-indigenous residents to increase voter turnout, with Abejide setting a target of one to two million votes. Bello expressed dissatisfaction with the 500,000 votes Tinubu received in the state during the 2023 election, arguing that two full terms are necessary for political stability. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf attended the event, pledging the political inclusion of non-indigenous ethnic groups.
Simultaneously, governors from Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states held a Women Mega Rally in Enugu. Governor Peter Mbah and Governor Hope Uzodimma argued that the establishment of the South East Development Commission and other reforms ended regional marginalization. Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu claimed the Igbo people had unanimously agreed to return the current administration to office.
In Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke, Minister Adegboyega Oyetola, and Chief Government Ekpemupolo inaugurated the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement. The coalition set a target of 1.5 to 2 million votes, with Ekpemupolo donating 30 vehicles to support the drive. Leaders there emphasized that Tinubu's reforms stabilized the economy and increased state allocations for salaries and pensions.
