Delhi Police File FIRs After Violent CJP Protest

Delhi Police filed six First Information Reports following a violent march to Parliament on Monday organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Protesters demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over irregularities and paper leaks associated with the NEET-UG 2026 exams.

Clashes erupted near Jantar Mantar, resulting in the detention of six individuals and injuries to six police personnel. The FIRs include charges of rioting, criminal conspiracy, assault, and the unauthorized use of a drone in a high-security zone. Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar Misra oversaw operations to prevent protesters from breaching security barricades.

The unrest expanded as Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were temporarily detained during a sit-in near Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence. Simultaneously, activist Sonam Wangchuk continued an indefinite hunger strike in solidarity with students, having been transferred from Safdarjung Hospital to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram by court order.

Government officials criticized the opposition's tactics, with Minister Pradhan stating that students deserve better than being treated as political props.
