Syed Amjad Ali Shah of the Independent Group, also known as the Ahsan Bhoon or Asma Jahangir Group, was elected president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) for the 2026–27 term. Shah defeated Sardar Amanullah Khan of the Professional Group in an election involving 4,634 eligible lawyers across 13 polling stations. In the largest voting center in Lahore, Shah secured 644 votes compared to 400 for Khan, with additional leads reported in cities including Sukkur, Hyderabad, and Peshawar.
