Amnesty Report Alleges India Supplies Arms for Gaza Genocide

Amnesty International released a report on July 30, 2026, alleging that India continues to supply arms and military components to Israel despite a substantial risk they are being used in the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. The investigation, titled "Made in India: The Supply of Weapons and Ammunition to Israel," tracked 2,596 shipments between October 7, 2023, and November 30, 2025.

These shipments included over 564,000 explosive ordnance parts—such as drone warheads and artillery shell casings—as well as 390,000 small arms parts and nearly 300 military vehicle components. The materials were delivered to Israeli firms including Elbit Systems, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, IMI Systems Limited, and MCT Materials. Amnesty identified nine Indian companies, some state-controlled, as part of this supply chain.

Secretary General Agnes Callamard stated that Indian authorities cannot credibly claim ignorance of the humanitarian crisis and criticized the government for failing to regulate private arms exports in line with international law. This supply chain persists alongside a deepening defense partnership, including a "Special Strategic Partnership" and a defense cooperation memorandum signed on November 4, 2025. While the Government of India declined to comment on the report's findings, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar defended the defense trade as a matter of national interest.
