INDIA Bloc Organizes Mass Rally Against Election Commissioner

The INDIA bloc is organizing a mass rally titled "Save the Vote, Save the Country" this Sunday at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi. The opposition alliance is demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of facilitating large-scale voter deletions and "vote chori" during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.

Led by Rahul Gandhi, the movement includes a "Chalo Dilli" march from the Minto Road-Connaught Place junction. The protests began with a symbolic public impeachment of the Chief Election Commissioner at the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, where former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar presided and Rahul Gandhi delivered concluding remarks.

While the Indian National Congress and other alliance leaders are targeting a turnout of one million people—specifically calling upon students, farmers, workers, and youth—Delhi Police estimate the crowd will be closer to 50,000. To manage the event, authorities have deployed over 4,000 police personnel, 200 CCTV cameras, and drones, while implementing significant traffic diversions across the city.
