Narendra Modi Directs Government to Break Silos for Viksit Bharat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with Secretaries to the Government of India on July 28, 2026, at his residence in Lok Kalyan Marg. The session focused on accelerating the goals of Viksit Bharat by reviewing action agendas for the finance, economy, commerce, industry, and technology sectors.
Modi directed officials to break both horizontal and vertical administrative silos to deliver integrated outcomes and ensure citizens remain the center of policymaking. He emphasized the need for the government to stay "youthful, dynamic and forward-looking" to adapt to emerging challenges with innovation.
Key priorities included achieving energy self-reliance, enhancing cybersecurity, and building domestic capabilities in critical technologies. To support these goals, Modi called for the active participation of young entrepreneurs and the creation of new academic courses developed in partnership with industry to bridge existing skill gaps among professionals and graduates. He concluded by stressing the necessity of continuous governance reforms to improve overall institutional efficiency.
