Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee are organizing a two-day midterm convention in Dallas to promote the GOP agenda and motivate voters before the upcoming midterm elections. The event aims to highlight party accomplishments and frame Democratic opponents as socialists to drive turnout, particularly as the party faces headwinds related to the war in Iran and the cost of living.

Some Republican lawmakers and consultants have expressed private concerns that the convention may focus too heavily on Trump rather than the specific candidates on the ballot. Additional apprehensions involve the timing of the event, which coincides with 9/11 commemorations and the start of the NFL season, as well as entrance fees for House members that begin at $25,000.

Republican National Committee officials have dismissed these concerns, maintaining that the event will demonstrate party unity and momentum. Spokeswoman Natalie Baldassarre stated that the convention will showcase the record of delivering results for the American people while Democrats remain divided.
