Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinian Communities Across Central West Bank

Armed Israeli settlers carried out a series of attacks across the central West Bank on September 27 and 28, 2026, targeting Palestinian homes, vehicles, and infrastructure. In the Kaabneh community near Taybeh, attackers smashed windows, stole approximately 3,000 shekels, and cut off water and electricity supplies. Settlers also stormed homes in the village of Yabroud, where they ransacked and destroyed property.

Violence extended to the towns of Ras Karkar and Deir Abu Mashal, where settlers torched a truck, an agricultural tractor, and a private vehicle. In an overnight raid in Abu Falah, dozens of armed settlers targeted the home of Mustafa Zaatar, a Palestinian-American, vandalizing the property and setting three vehicles on fire. Zaatar stated that his U.S. citizenship offered no protection during the assault.

These incidents coincide with the approaching olive harvest, a period often marked by increased targeting of Palestinian farmers. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that 275 Palestinian communities have been affected by settler attacks in 2026, nearly matching the record high of 2025. UN Secretary-General António Guterres warned that such violence poses an existential threat to Palestinian communities, while U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee characterized the settler violence as terrorism.
