Nigeria Hands Over 50,000 New Police Constables for Training

The Police Service Commission handed over 50,000 newly recruited Police Constables to the Nigeria Police Force during a ceremony on Wednesday at the Commission's corporate headquarters in Abuja. The recruitment exercise followed a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to bolster the nation's security forces.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Isyaku Mohammed, representing the Inspector-General of Police, received the recruits and confirmed that nationwide training will commence at designated Police Colleges and approved institutions once the necessary funds are released. The training will be conducted according to established professional standards.

Officials from the Police Service Commission and the Ministry of Police Affairs described the recruitment process as transparent and credible. The Ministry of Police Affairs monitored the exercise to verify its integrity before the formal handover to the police force for operational preparation.
