Donald Trump Mocks Protester After Physical Altercation in Ohio

President Donald Trump mocked a protester's weight and appearance during a campaign rally at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio, on October 12, 2026. The incident began when a woman wearing a "Release the Epstein Files" T-shirt interrupted the speech, prompting a supporter to shove her, punch her in the face, and grab her by the hair.

While police escorted the woman from the venue, the assailant remained in the crowd and exchanged high-fives with other attendees. From the stage, Trump mistakenly referred to the woman as a man, calling him a "fat guy" who "needs to go on a diet." He further alleged without evidence that the individual was a "paid protester" funded by "lefties."

The rally served as a Republican campaign event for the November 3 legislative elections and featured Senator Jon Husted and gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.
