Donald Trump Attacks Fox News and Democratic Senate Candidates

President Donald Trump criticized Fox News for its coverage of Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed while launching personal attacks against Democratic candidates in Michigan and Texas.

President Donald Trump criticized Fox News on Tuesday, accusing the network of promoting Democrats and claiming it has lost its way. The outburst followed an interview between anchor Martha MacCallum and Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Michigan. White House officials and GOP operatives argued that the network is helping El-Sayed moderate his image, specifically citing favorable comments from host Jesse Watters that the El-Sayed campaign used in a television advertisement. Fox News Media president Jay Wallace defended the programming, stating the network is willing to air content its core audience may not like.

Trump escalated his rhetoric on Wednesday, launching personal attacks on social media against Democratic candidates in critical races. He labeled El-Sayed a "RADICAL Extremist" and "Terrorist Sympathizer," while misspelling the candidate's first name as "Mohammed." Trump endorsed Republican opponent Mike Rogers, who is receiving $53 million in support from the Senate Leadership Fund.

In Texas, Trump targeted state Representative James Talarico, calling him "James TalaFREAKo" and suggesting during a San Antonio rally that Talarico fell ill after eating beef for political optics. Talarico's campaign clarified he was recovering from the flu, and Talarico has since accepted Trump's demand for a debate.
