Trump and America250 Organize Diverse July 4 Semiquincentennial Events
President Donald Trump and the nonprofit America250 are organizing separate celebrations in Washington and Los Angeles to mark the United States semiquincentennial.
Donald Trump announced a July 4 rally at the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument featuring military bands and a personal playlist. These celebrations in Washington occur alongside the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, hosted by Freedom 250 from June 25 to July 10. However, Freedom 250 faced setbacks as nearly all previously announced artists withdrew from the fair due to concerns over political ties and the unauthorized use of their names.
Simultaneously, the nonprofit organization America250 is coordinating America’s Block Party concerts in Los Angeles. Hosted by Queen Latifah at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the event features performances by Chris Stapleton and The Smashing Pumpkins to benefit the Giving 4th charitable initiative. The events mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, with organizers seeking to use the milestone to foster national unity and celebrate through music and community gatherings.
