U.S. Treasury Enrolls 70 Million Children in Trump Accounts

The U.S. Treasury Department automatically enrolled nearly 70 million children into tax-advantaged Trump Accounts to build generational wealth.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has completed the automatic enrollment of nearly 70 million American children into Trump Accounts, which are tax-advantaged investment accounts intended to build generational wealth. Over 60 million of these accounts were created through an auto-enrollment process for children under 18 who possess valid Social Security numbers.

While all eligible children can hold an account, the federal government restricts a one-time $1,000 seed contribution to U.S. citizen children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028. To access these funds, manage the accounts, or make additional contributions, parents or guardians must verify their identity and relationship to the child through the official Trump Accounts app or web platform.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed that millions of children have already enrolled in the program. White House spokeswoman Tela described the accounts as a life-changing initiative to jump-start the American dream. President Donald Trump is scheduled to host an event in the Oval Office on Wednesday to celebrate the enrollment milestone.
