Flavio Bolsonaro Leads Lula in Tight Presidential Runoff Poll
Senator Flavio Bolsonaro holds a slight lead over President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in a new Quaest poll ahead of the October 25 runoff.
A new Quaest poll released Wednesday shows Flavio Bolsonaro holding a narrow lead over President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva as Brazil prepares for the October 25 presidential runoff. The survey indicates Bolsonaro would receive 46% of the vote compared to 44% for Lula.
Because the margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points, the result is a technical tie. The survey was conducted between October 10 and 13 among 2,154 people. This data follows a first-round vote where Bolsonaro unexpectedly led Lula.
Beyond the two main candidates, 9% of respondents intend to abstain or cast blank or null votes, while 1% remain undecided.
