UN Implements Technical Safeguards for Donald Trump Speech

The United Nations implemented new technical arrangements to prevent equipment failures during Donald Trump's scheduled speech at the General Assembly in New York City on Tuesday. These precautions follow a 2025 incident where Trump accused the organization of "triple sabotage" after a teleprompter failed and an escalator stalled during his visit.

UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric confirmed that the escalator has been repeatedly checked and the U.S. delegation now has a separate workstation for their teleprompter to ensure the event proceeds without disruption.

Separately, technical problems at an air traffic control facility in Philadelphia disrupted flights at major New York airports. While the malfunctions delayed some officials attending the General Assembly, they did not impact Donald Trump.
