Congress Demands Supreme Court Probe Into Ram Temple Donation Scam
The Indian National Congress party is demanding a Supreme Court-monitored investigation into alleged systemic theft of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The Indian National Congress has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of overseeing institutionalized theft of offerings at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Senior leader Pramod Tiwari alleged that the loot occurred during the tenure of trust general secretary Champat Rai and claimed Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally appointed the trust members involved. Tiwari further asserted that the BJP prioritized election interests over the temple's completion.
In response to the controversy, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust stated that an investigation into irregularities involving gold and silver is in its final stages. The trust has since implemented 360-degree cameras and an eight-member monitoring team, including officials from the State Bank of India, following several police arrests.
Congress leadership plans to disrupt Parliament on Monday to push for a Supreme Court-supervised Special Investigation Team. Tiwari dismissed the existing Uttar Pradesh government probe as fake and accused Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah of avoiding Parliament to protect high-ranking officials within the temple trust.
