Trump Announces CapeWeek Aerospace Venue After Midterm Losses

President Donald Trump announced plans for a massive aerospace exhibition in Florida to surpass the Paris Air Show following Republican midterm election defeats.

President Donald Trump announced plans to establish CapeWeek, a massive aerospace exhibition venue at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, during a visit on November 6. The 1,900-acre site is intended to surpass the Paris Air Show within two years, providing a domestic platform for commercial aircraft and space technology companies to secure deals. The initiative follows a September White House directive urging U.S. space companies to avoid a global space summit in Paris.

Speaking at the Up Summit and the MAX POWER expo, Trump outlined ambitious space goals, including returning astronauts to the moon and launching NASA's Space Reactor-1 Freedom, a nuclear-powered robotic mission to Mars, by the end of 2028. He also proposed ending restrictions on supersonic flight over the continental United States and strengthening the domestic drone industry to maintain an artificial intelligence lead over China.

The announcement served as Trump's first formal address following the November 5 midterm elections, in which Republicans lost control of both chambers of Congress. Trump blamed the election for a $3 ext{ trillion}$ loss in market value and announced that Stephen Miller would replace Susie Wiles as chief of staff. While noting nationwide losses, he highlighted Florida as a success, congratulating Senator Ashley Moody and Governor-elect Byron Donalds on their victories.
