Mohammed bin Salman Visits France for Strategic Partnership Council
Mohammed bin Salman visits France to co-chair the French-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council and discuss regional stability and economic partnerships.
Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman is visiting France on August 23 and 24 following an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron. The visit centers on the first convening of the French-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council, where the two leaders will co-chair the council on Monday after attending the Esports World Cup closing ceremony at the Grand Palais on Sunday.
Bilateral talks are expected to address economic partnerships and critical regional stability issues. Key agenda items include the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the current situations in Lebanon and Syria, and a recent defense agreement established between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Türkiye.
In a separate development, the Muslim World League condemned Israel's 'E1' settlement plan in East Jerusalem. Secretary-General Mohammed al-Issa stated that the project threatens the viability of a future independent Palestinian state by cutting off geographic contiguity in the West Bank.
