Yousef Jabareen Offers Support to Replace Netanyahu Government

Yousef Jabareen and the Joint List alliance offered parliamentary support to any government that replaces Benjamin Netanyahu, contingent on negotiations over Arab community demands.

The leader of the Joint List Arab political alliance, Yousef Jabareen, has declared that his bloc possesses the power to bring down Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government and dictate terms for any future coalition. Ahead of the October 27 election, Jabareen offered parliamentary support to any government that replaces Netanyahu, though he clarified the alliance would not formally join such a coalition.

Jabareen stated that this support is not a blank check and requires negotiations on a timed plan to combat crime in Arab communities, an end to home demolitions, and the recognition of unrecognized villages in the Negev. He explicitly rejected providing budgets for war or Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, citing the current administration's policies in Gaza and the West Bank as reasons for the push for change.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded via X, claiming Jabareen admitted his bloc would form a government with Gadi Eisenkot. However, other opposition figures, including Naftali Bennett and Avigdor Liberman, have rejected any government dependent on Arab parties. This political maneuvering follows a legal victory for the Joint List on October 3, when the Supreme Court of Israel overturned a Central Elections Committee decision that had disqualified the alliance from running in the Knesset.
