APC Challenges Atiku Abubakar Over Economic Policy Alternatives

Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, challenged Atiku Abubakar to provide detailed policy alternatives to the economic reforms implemented by President Bola Tinubu. Speaking on Channels Television, Morka defended the removal of petrol subsidies and the harmonization of foreign exchange rates as essential steps to resolve structural economic problems that had persisted for decades.

Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress, responded by urging the Federal Government to reduce petrol prices to ease the cost of living. He offered to share his own policy framework with the administration and expressed opposition to the planned phase-out of electricity subsidies scheduled for 2027.

While the two political figures clashed over economic strategy, the African Democratic Congress saw internal shifts. Ephraim Iyke Nwonu, an ADC candidate for the House of Representatives in Ebonyi State, withdrew from his race for the Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency to support President Tinubu's 2027 re-election bid.
