APC Leaders Seek 90 Percent of Ekiti Votes for Tinubu
Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC leaders urged Ekiti state residents to deliver 800,000 votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.
Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria, called on residents of Ekiti state to deliver 90 percent of their votes—approximately 800,000 ballots—to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027. Speaking at a campaign rally in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, Shettima and Senator Abdulaziz Yari, Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, cited federal infrastructure projects as justification for the President's re-election.
These projects include the Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences and the Itawure-Aramoko-Ekiti and Akure-Ekiti roads. Senator Yari stated that Northern Nigeria is prepared to fully support the candidacy of President Tinubu. Meanwhile, Shettima criticized opposition parties, specifically the African Democratic Congress, for relying on social media instead of grassroots performance.
National Chairman of the APC, Prof Nentawe Yilwatda, added to the appeal by urging that the party's candidates be presented to the electorate based on their credentials and the progress of ongoing projects.
