Russian Missiles Strike Kyiv University and Residential Areas
Russian ballistic missiles struck a university campus and residential districts in Kyiv, killing one person and injuring 10 others, including students and medical personnel.
Russian ballistic missiles struck the State University of Trade and Economics campus and surrounding residential areas in Kyiv on October 26. The attacks killed at least one person and injured 10 others, primarily students living in university dormitories.
Strikes caused extensive damage to student housing, medical facilities, and a school building in the Desnianskyi district, while a non-residential building in the Dniprovskyi district was partially destroyed. Two emergency medical personnel were also wounded when their ambulance came under fire.
Volodymyr Zelensky characterized the strikes as targeting crowded civilian areas without nearby military facilities. He urged Western allies to accelerate the delivery of air defense systems and ammunition to protect populated cities from ongoing missile and drone campaigns.
