Qatar Prime Minister Labels Benjamin Netanyahu a War Criminal
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani accused Benjamin Netanyahu of war crimes in Gaza and condemned an Israeli strike on Doha.
Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani labeled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a war criminal during an interview with Piers Morgan. He cited the targeting of schools and hospitals in Gaza as unjustified and alleged that Israel violated the October 2025 ceasefire, noting that over 1,400 Gazans have been killed since the agreement while Israeli forces occupy nearly 70 percent of the Strip.
Sheikh Mohammed specifically condemned a September 9, 2025, Israeli strike in Doha that killed five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer. He described the operation as an unprecedented attack on a mediator and accused Netanyahu of attacking Qatar politically to deflect from his own government's conduct in Gaza.
Despite these tensions, Qatar continues to facilitate communication between the United States and Iran. To end the US-Israel war on Iran, Sheikh Mohammed proposed three requirements: an agreement on Iran's right to peaceful nuclear power and the removal of sanctions, guaranteed freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and reformed regional security arrangements between Iran and the Gulf Cooperation Council based on dialogue and non-aggression.
