Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited United States business leaders to invest in Pakistan's technology, agriculture, and mining sectors during meetings in New York.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the Business Council for International Understanding and the US-Pakistan Business Council in New York to solicit investment from United States business leaders. He identified information technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture, mining, minerals, ports, and shipping as primary areas for growth.
Sharif detailed ongoing structural and policy reforms intended to reduce regulatory barriers, specifically citing changes at the Federal Board of Revenue to improve the ease of doing business. He also highlighted the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines and the planned privatization of power distribution companies as key economic shifts.
To support these efforts, the Pakistani government is prioritizing the digitization of the economy and expanding vocational training for youth.
