Nvidia Partners With Six Firms to Mobilize $500 Billion

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang partnered with six major financial institutions to create funding vehicles mobilizing $500 billion for AI data centers and hardware.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has partnered with six major financial institutions to mobilize up to $500 billion for artificial intelligence infrastructure. The participating firms—Goldman Sachs, BlackRock, Blackstone, KKR, Apollo Global Management, and Brookfield—signed nonbinding memoranda of understanding to create funding vehicles that channel third-party investor capital, such as pension funds, into AI data centers and hardware.

Under the initiative, Nvidia will act as a matchmaker between customers and financiers. To attract investors, Huang characterized AI computing capacity as a new, revenue-generating asset class and offered to assume up to 25 percent of the risk per loan based on residual value.

While some financial institutions view Nvidia chips as highly financeable, the plan has drawn skepticism from industry analysts. Critics suggest the move indicates that potential buyers are facing balance-sheet constraints and that Nvidia is attempting to prop up sales. Additional concerns center on the long-term salvage value of GPUs used as collateral, given the company's annual chip refresh cycle.
