Unusual Machines Wins Largest Pentagon Drone Motor Contract

The U.S. Army awarded Unusual Machines, a Florida-based drone manufacturer, the largest government contract in its history to supply 3,500 drone motors and other components. The Pentagon indicated it intends to order an additional 20,000 parts in 2026. Following the October 24 announcement, the company's stock rose approximately 19%, reaching an intraday high of $14.34.

The deal follows a June executive order by President Donald Trump to scale up domestic production and commercialization of drone technologies, as well as a July Pentagon decision to remove procurement restrictions.

The contract has drawn scrutiny due to the involvement of Donald Trump Jr., who serves as an advisor and holds a stake in the company valued at approximately $4 million. CEO Allan Evans stated that while Trump Jr.'s public endorsement helped the firm raise over $80 million from investors, the advisor was not involved in securing the Pentagon deal. A company spokesperson and a representative for Trump Jr. both denied that any communication occurred with the administration regarding the contract.
