Narendra Modi Urges Youth Service During Seva Sankalp Yatra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted via video conference on September 24 with participants of the Seva Sankalp Yatra, a motorcycle journey organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Traveling from Modi's birthplace in Vadnagar to his parliamentary constituency in Varanasi, the yatra runs from September 17 to October 7 to commemorate the Prime Minister's 76th birthday and 25 years as an elected representative.

Addressing youth participants in the Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh, Modi stated that service has been the core of his governance from Gujarat to Delhi. He urged the 10 participating groups to demonstrate the message of service through actions rather than preaching, distinguishing the objective of nation-building from conventional politics and elections. He emphasized that youth power is essential to achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047.

The yatra involves grassroots mobilization across 159 villages, including cleanliness drives and tree planting under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative. During the interaction, Modi shared a traditional indigenous technique for watering saplings in arid regions like Rajasthan, advising the use of porous earthen pots to allow natural seepage. The event was also attended by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
