Apollo Global Management Opens Strategic Growth Hub in Austin

Apollo Global Management, Inc. announced the establishment of a new strategic growth hub in Austin on August 3, 2026. The office will focus on innovation, emerging technology, and the expansion of the firm's retirement solutions and asset management platforms.

Led by Mike Downing and Eric Needleman, the hub aims to incubate new businesses and evolve company operations by leveraging Austin's concentration of defense firms and hard-tech talent. While the firm is expanding its presence in Texas, its global headquarters will remain in New York State.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Austin Mayor Kirk Watson praised the decision, citing the region's leadership in financial services and innovation. CEO Marc Rowan noted that the Austin environment allows the firm to build the next generation of Apollo and Athene using existing local talent and technology.
